WORK, CYCLE, SAVE
WHAT IS THE CYCLE-TO-WORK SCHEME?

The cycle-to-work scheme is a government-backed initiative designed to get more people to travel by bike where possible. The good news is that it also includes electric bikes. If your employer participates in the scheme, you’ll save money on the total cost of a new electric cycle and be able to spread the payments with a monthly payment plan. While the cost savings are a big incentive, you’ll also help to reduce congestion on our busy Lincolnshire roads, not to mention make a positive impact on the environment and your health!

We work with most cycle-to-work schemes including Halfords Cycle2Work. Some example schemes include:

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT E-BIKES FOR WORK:

GETTING STARTED

Each scheme has its own variations, but the general process is similar. First, you’ll have to make sure your workplace is registered with a scheme provider. Once you’ve checked that, and your approved budget, it’s as easy as choosing the e-bike you want. Your employer usually pays for it, and you’ll pay them back tax-free through monthly instalments through your salary.

IS IT REALLY TAX-FREE?

Yes! The monthly payments are taken from your gross salary before any tax is deducted. This means that as well as paying less tax, you’ll also pay less national insurance for the period that you’re paying off the bike. If your employer hasn’t registered, let them know that they’ll also benefit from a reduced national insurance contribution.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

  • Save up to 42% on the total cost of your new e-bike and any accessories

  • Spread your monthly payments over a set period

  • Reduce your environmental impact with an eco-friendly transportation choice

  • Save money on fuel, road tax and parking fees

CHANGING LIVES WITH E-BIKES

“I have been considering buying an electric bike for two years.
I visited Pedal Electric Cycles in Navenby and found Chris to be very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave me plenty of advice and information to take away. After visiting the shop for a second time my decision was made. I purchased a middle if the range hybrid electric bike, which I am absolutely delighted with. The level of service I received, which included delivery of my bike on a Sunday, was absolutely fantastic. I would not hesitate to recommend.”
